The 2013 Dimensions of Political Ecology (DoPE) Conference on Nature/Society, will be taking place at the University of Kentucky February 28th to March 2nd, 2013. Now in its third year, the 2013 conference will provide opportunities to engage with contemporary scholarship on the political-economic causes and effects of ecological change. With an interdisciplinary and international group of presenters, panelists, and keynote speakers, this year's conference will offer considerable insight into pressing contemporary questions relating to sustainability, global climate change, and local environmental conflicts. This year we have over 200 scheduled presenters, representing a wide variety of geographic and disciplinary affiliations.

Some of the disciplines that will be represented at this year’s conference include Anthropology, Appalachian Studies, Agroecology,  Architecture, Education Policy, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Forestry, Geography, Global Health, History, Justice Studies, Law, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Real Estate and Planning, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, Urban Studies and Planning, and Women’s Studies.
