Local Living Archive

The Local Living Archive is a collaborative and creative effort of all Kentucky residents. These archives document “local living,” or the stories and artifacts that make up local life in Lexington and beyond. It is also a living archive. Not only do we collect historical records and artifacts, but we also want to document local culture and events as they are currently being experienced.

If you have an idea for a community, event, or figure that should be documented, please fill out a project proposal form in order to help find UK faculty or students who might be interested in helping to record those stories. We also encourage you to share your images, multimedia, audio, digital scans, or writing.
