As Japan gifted Washington D.C. with cherry trees in 1912, offspring of those original trees are being donated to Kentucky and four will be planted at UK. A dedication ceremony will be held for this gift on April 26.

Kentucky poet, novelist, environmentalist and University of Kentucky alumnus Wendell Berry delivered the 2012 Jefferson Lecture in the Humanities last night in Washington, D.C.

Ignacio Martínez de Pisón, a guest writer at this year's Kentucky Foreign Language Conference, won the prestigious Premio de la Crítica for his novel El día de mañana.
